I spend countless hours on my mat playing, experimenting and having fun because yoga takes me to a place where I not only become more joyful, but where I find acceptance in my body, and within myself.

Ashtanga

Ashtanga is an ancient and vigorous form of yoga that will not only improve your flexibility but will also greatly strengthen your body. Known by some as ‘Warrior Yoga’ it involves a set sequence of postures that are synchronised with the breath, generating intense internal heat that greatly detoxifies the body, improving circulation and building great strength and flexibilty.

The set sequence is a great way to monitor your progress. Each Asana (posture) is linked together by a flowing Vinyasa (Sun Salutation) to create a sequence of both flowing practice (the Vinyasas) as well as static postures (Asanas). Popularised in the West by Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga is a discipline that has changed both my body and my approach to life. With regular practice, Ashtanga yoga awakens your body in a sense that is very hard to describe.

Be prepared to sweat, to challenge the mind and to BREATHE your way to a stronger, more supple body with this ancient practice.

Power Vinyasa

My Power Vinyasa classes are fun, fast-paced, playful and energetic. Like a dance on your mat, Vinyasa focuses on a constant flow from one posture to the next, building internal heat and working the body into a happy sweat. Derived from the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system, it focuses on synchronised breath work and dynamic movement. Each class will vary slightly, but the framework will remain the same – a sequence of yoga moves that will wake up your entire body. We will move between flowing sequences and balances, backbends and seated postures, core work and twists.

This is a place to let go of all the baggage of life and re-discover a playfulness and determination within yourself. We so often forget to have fun, and especially to laugh when we fall over, because falling over is the only way we learn! This class will leave you energised, sweaty, and grinning from ear to ear.

GROUP CLASSES

Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, group classes are a great way to experience the practice. The energy of working alongside others mean we all learn from each other. Every person brings something different to the table and opens up channels of learning and inspiration that can be missed when we practice alone.

Classes are held at the lovely spacious Wilder Street Studios, just off Cheltenham Road and a five minute walk from Broadmead. All you need to bring along is yourself in comfortable, stretchy clothes, and a yoga mat (if you have one!). The dynamic of practicing with a group is energising and inspiring, so come and find us!

PRIVATE CLASSES

Private classes are an excellent way to accelerate your physical progress and deepen your understanding of yoga with meticulous attention being paid to your every move. Here we go over your practice with a fine tooth comb, as well as focus on areas you would like to pay specific attention to. I take into account your unique lifestyle and body, including any possible injuries.

Whether you are a complete beginner or seasoned practitioner, the personal attention you will receive from one-on-one teaching will slingshot you into a deeper level of understanding and physical progress within your practice.
